On March 25, Jiangsu provincial party committee and the provincial government held a meeting to summarize the high-quality development in 2023 and promote the work in 2024. NJUPT was awarded the first rank in the comprehensive assessment of high quality development of I-class undergraduate universities in Jiangsu. This is also the fourth consecutive year that NJUPT has been honored with the first rank since the implementation of the comprehensive assessment in Jiangsu Province in 2019.
In 2023, the Party Committee of NJUPT, under the correct leadership of the provincial party committee, government, education working committee and education department, adhered to the direction of socialist school running, implemented the fundamental task of establishing moral education, gave full play to the role of the comprehensive assessment wind vane, baton and booster, and united and led the whole university to carry out in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era theme of education. The fourth Party Congress was held to establish the long-term goal of “building a world-class university with distinctive features in the field of electronic information”. We have made comprehensive progress in the fifth round of disciplinary assessment, with the number of National Natural Science Foundation projects exceeding one hundred for two consecutive years, hitting a new record high. We have added 10 new national leading talents of various kinds, and have been granted four postdoctoral research mobile stations and four postdoctoral research stations. We have added 10 national leading talents, approved of 4 postdoctoral research stations, won the second prize of national teaching achievements, won 5 gold medals of China International Student Innovation Competition, and the highest prize of “Star of Postgraduate Innovation and Practice” in the series of research and innovation competitions. Governor Xu Kunlin, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee Shen Ying, vice governor Hu Guangjie fully affirmed the work NJUPT, encouraging us to be the main force of basic research and scientific and technological innovation curb, and to accelerate the development of the new quality of productive forces for Jiangsu.
In 2024, NJUPT will adhere to Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era as the fundamental guideline, deeply implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the 2nd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, benchmark the requirements of the provincial comprehensive assessment, and focus on the objectives and tasks established by the 4th CPC Congress of the university to comprehensively implement the strategic idea of “Strengthening the leadership of specialties, the support of talents, and the drive of innovation”. We will comprehensively implement the strategic thought of “strengthening characteristic leadership, talent support, innovation drive”, push forward the construction of national “double first-class” university, Jiangsu high-level university and world-class university in a coordinated manner, and strive to contribute to the strength of NJUPT for Jiangsu to build an important position for the development of new productive forces, and take the lead in the demonstration of promoting the Chinese-style modernization.
